Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages of Uiwang-si has modified its curriculum to
better prepare its students for the fourth industrial revolution.

The curriculum was devised based on the plentiful experience of Gyeonggi Academy’s teaching staff
with the addition of consultation with the newly appointed principal Byong-ho Lee and experts in various fields.

In March 2017, Gyeonggi Academy has adopted a selective, fusion curriculum, developed based on 2009
revised education curriculum issued by the government.

Two major changes to the curriculum are the freedom to compile their coursework in accordance with their
career goal, an increase in class hour from 7 per day to 8 per day. As a result, Gyeonggi Academy is now offering a broader spectrum of courses to ensure that students experience their field of interest. It is from this wide range of classes,
students are able to select the ones they need and compile their own ti

The increased class hour of 8 hours per day will also ensure that students will have ample time to explore their intellectual curiosity.
With the extended class hour, students can take 34 to 40 hours of class per week.

This groundbreaking move of Gyeonggi Academy is expected to have a significant influence on the education system of numerous institutions around the country.

Principal Lee added that,“ ’VISION 2018’ and its subsequent plans are the bedrock for nurturing creative
global leaders.” “In addition to the revised curriculum, I will do my utmost to invest in a better education environment and professionalism of the teaching staff to prepare our institution for the title of ‘World No. 1 School’.”

Ahead of the 10th anniversary of the founding of the board of foundation Bong-Ahm Institute,
Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages has set a set of goals called ‘VISION 2018’,
including plans to become the No.1 in university entrance, education environment, and professionalism of the teaching staff.
