Maekyung, one of the leading media groups in the nation, has recently carried out research on

the relationship between schools grades under the current schooling system and creativity and critical thinking.

In an effort to address the challenges and issues surrounding the current  schooling system on the basis of learning by rote, the research project has been conducted in association with renowned educational institutions, including Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages, KAIST, Chungam education office, and Institute for Education and Innovation in Korea.

In fact, some individuals with low school grades showed their excellence in IB test, whereas a large number of students
at the top of the current schooling system performed poorly.
The result of the research shows that students’ scores under the current schooling, centered at university entrance exams have nothing to do with IB (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) scores aiming at boosting creativity and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.
